VOODOO WOMAN (1957 U.S.) D: EDWARD L. CAHN W: RUSSEL BENDER/V.I. VOSS P: ALEX GORDON
Tom Conway is a mad scientist mixing science and voodoo with the help of jungle natives in some undisclosed tropical location out of a 30`s potboiler. When a local girl he transforms into an armour-plated beast (Paul Blaisdell`s THE SHE CREATURE with slight alterations and a wig!) refuses to kill on his (psychic) command, he turns his attentions to uber-bitch Marla English, busy hunting gold with the reluctant help of guide hero Mike "Touch" Connors. Forgettable b/w quickie from Cahn and A.I.P. With Paul Dubov, Norman Willis, plenty of casual racism and a sacrificial pit spuming dry ice. Passable enough late night crap to fall asleep to though. Remade as CURSE OF THE SWAMP CREATURE by Larry Buchanan.
