THURSDAY (1998 U.S.) D/W: SKIP WOODS P: ALAN POUL
Thomas Jane stars as a reformed L.A. criminal now married and settled into a suburban life. Aaron Eckhart is his old partner who drops by his house and leaves a stash of smack and stolen money behind. Various characters (including corrupt cop Mickey Rourke) stop by to try and get their hands on it. Woods is obviously a huge Tarantino and George Armitage fan, but not a particularly talented one. It`s hip-by-numbers with casual "cool" amoral outbursts of violence and pop culture references. But it doesn`t have heart. With James Le Gros as an obvious extension of Mr. White in RESERVOIR DOGS, Paulina Porizkova, Michael Jeter, Paula Marshall and Glenn Plummer.
