THE ROBOT VS. THE AZTEC MUMMY (la momia azteca contra el robot humano) (1957 MEXICO) D: RAFAEL PORTILLO W/P: GUILLMERO CALDERON W: ALFREDO SALAZAR
A group of scientists investigating an Aztec pyramid tomb awake an Aztec mummy (Angel di Stefani) when they try and steal the gold it is guarding. After they realise their mistake, they must stop the evil Dr. Krupp (aka The Bat) who has invented a human robot to kill the mummy for the gold. Most of this is told in flashback by a guy with an acid-scarred face. Atmospheric, but the awful English dubbing in the K. Gordon Murray import version makes me want to see it in its original language. Otherwise a good time. It was made back-to-back with its predecessors, ATTACK OF THE AZTEC MUMMY and CURSE OF THE AZTEC MUMMY (it uses lots of footage from both) and is the most fun of the trilogy. With Ramon Gray, Rosita Arenas, Crox Alvarado, Arturo Martinez, Jorge Mondragon, Alejandro Cruz (aka Blue Demon), Julian De Meriche, Emma Roldan, Salvador Lozano and Guillermo Hernandez. A slightly different Aztec mummy returned in WRESTLING WOMEN VS. THE AZTEC MUMMY.
