PUBLIC ACCESS (1993 U.S.) D/W: BRYAN SINGER W: CHRISTOPHER McQUARRIE/MICHAEL FEIT DOUGAN P: KENNETH KOKIN
A stranger (Ron Marquette) arrives in a small Midwest town called Brewster one day and starts his own public access show on cable called Our Town. He asks only one question on air, "What`s wrong in Brewster?". The phone calls pour in and the seemingly idyllic town is turned into a hotbed of gossip and supressed anger, and hatred rises to the surface. Singer`s debut is pretty good with some surprises, but seems a little half-baked, and is unsatisfactory all-told. Singer and McQaurrie made the fantastic THE USUAL SUSPECTS next.
