McBAIN (1991 U.S.) D/W: JAMES GLICKENHAUS P: J. BOYCE HARMON JR.
This violent and unlikely vigilante revenge movie is pretty entertaining. I prefer it to Glickenhaus' THE EXTERMINATOR (with which it shares some ideas). Christopher Walken and his 'nam vet friends help Maria Conchita Alonso revolt against a Columbian dictator and drug kingpin who has workers and children hooked on cocoa leaves. There are some very good action scenes. With Michael Ironside, Steve James, Vic Argo, Luis Guzman, Chick Vennera, Karen Duffy, scary crack dens, Walken attempting a British accent and an interesting point of view on Woodstock. The Columbia scenes were actualy filmed in the Philippines.
