IT CAME FROM OUTER SPACE (1953 U.S.) D: JACK ARNOLD W: HARRY ESSEX P: WILLIAM ALLAND
This b/w 3D alien invasion hit seems dated nowadays with little action but it's still a great sci-fi flick. Richard Carlson is the scientist who's seen a crash-landed alien spacecraft. No-one else in the Arizona desert community believes him of course, but they're soon being duplicated to help repair the visitors' ship. The floating eyeball surveillance device is marvellous. With Barbara Rush, Charles Drake, Joe Sawyer, Russell Johnson, Budd Buster, Edgar Dearing, George Eldredge, Dave Willock and theremin music. Future OCTAMAN Director (!) Essex based his script on Ray Bradbury's story The Meteor. THE GLASS WEB was Arnold's other '53 3D movie. A belated "sequel" appeared in 1996.
