ILSA, SHE WOLF OF THE S.S. (1974 U.S. CANADA) D: DON EDMUNDS W: JONAH ROYSTON P: "HERMAN TRAEGER" (DAVID F. FRIEDMAN)
Dyanne Thorne is fantastic as the overexaggerated exploitation movie version of the real life Ilsa Koch, Commandant of a concentration camp where grisly experiments are carried out on female prisoners (boiled alive, eaten by maggots etc.), all horribly realised by Joe Blasco`s amazing FX. The male prisoners are used as sex slaves for Koch, only to be castrated the next day. Not much is left to be said about this exploitation landmark (everyone knows the sets from the tv show Hogan`s Heroes were used) but bare in mind that the original is more sick than exciting or entertaining. That`s not to say it`s too strong (at least not for some), but the sequels (starting with HAREM KEEPER) are more fun. Friedman also appears briefly (but got financialy burned, so stayed away from the sequels). With George "Buck" Flower, Uschi Digard and Sharon Kelly.
