I WAS A TEENAGE FRANKENSTEIN (teenage frankenstein) (1957 U.S.) D: HERBERT L. STROCK W/P: HERMAN COHEN W: "KENNETH LANGTRY" (ABEN KANDEL)
A.I.P's follow-up to I WAS A TEENAGE WEREWOLF is actually much better than you may have heard, working perfectly as fast-paced, tongue-in-cheek trash. Whit Bissell is the L.A. based doctor who creates a musclebound monster that ends up with Gary Conway's badly scarred head. The electrocution finale of this b/w movie bursts into colour (a decent effect). With Robert Burton and George Lynn. I like Hammer period horror, but would much rather watch this again than the somewhat overrated CURSE OF FRANKENSTEIN that came out (from a more traditional angle) the same year. HOW TO MAKE A MONSTER is the companion piece to this and WEREWOLF.
