HIDEKI: EVIL DEAD TRAP II (shiryo no wana: hideki) (1991 JAPAN) D/W: IZO HASHIMOTO W: CHIYAKI KONAKI P: NAOKATSU ITOO/MITSUO HANADA
An overweight female projectionist brooding over the loss of her unborn child (Shoko Nakajima in a very good performance) is also a serial killer of prostitutes, gorily cutting them up and removing their wombs. Her prettier thin friend (Rie Kondo) can't stand the fact that Nakajima is not jealous of her, so has a baby out of spite. This is all very well and good and could have made a great psychological thriller/horror movie, but then Hashimoto can't resist throwing in his usual weirdness so we get Shiro Sano (from Hasimoto's LUCKY SKY DIAMOND) as an obnoxious and pushy go-between the two women who is also a married man with some weird Hideki kid character that completely throws the plot out the window. It's an extremely stylish and good looking movie, but i don't recommend watching it to try and figure it out. With Shino Ikenani, Kitarou and (briefly) famous ex-prostitute Ruby Moreno. EVIL DEAD TRAP 3: BROKEN LOVE KILLER followed.
