GUN CRAZY (deadly is the female) (1949 U.S.) D: JOSEPH H. LEWIS W: "MILLARD KAUFMAN"(DALTON TRUMBO)/MACKINLAY KANTOR P: FRANK and MAURICE KING
John Dall is a small town shooting expert who meets the wild, sexy Peggy Cummins in a carnival shooting gallery ("we go together like guns and ammunition") in one of the classic low budget thrillers of the 40`s. Semi-based on both a newspaper story from Kantor and the Bonnie and Clyde legend, Dall and Cummins become a bank-robbing fugitive couple living on the edge. You may have read about the great b/w photography, the innovative camerawork or the hard boiled dialogue, see the film and you probably won`t notice a lot of these things first time because it`s so damn entertaining! With Russ Tamblyn, Don Beddoe, Harry Hayden, Charles McGraw, Anne O`Neal, Dale Van Sickel and Ray Teal. Trumbo had been recently blacklisted during the communist hunts of Hollywood.
