FIGHT FOR YOUR LIFE (held hostage; staying alive; getting even; i hate your guts; bloodbath at 1313; fury road) (1977 U.S.) D/P: ROBERT A. ENDELSON W: STRAW WEISMAN P: WILLIAM MISHKIN
William Sanderson has the role of his career as a racist escaped convict with a "spic" and a "chink" in tow who takes a black minister`s family hostage at their home in upstate New York. It`s a strong race hatred exploitation twist on THE DESPERATE HOURS that (to be fair) is more notorious than it is actually shocking. It`s also a better suspense film than the 1990 remake of the Bogart vehicle. Producer Mishkin (who does not garner much respect from Sleazoid Express writer Bill Landis) also made SNUFF a 42nd. St. legend.
