DR. JEKYLL AND THE WEREWOLF (doctor jekyll y el hombre lobo) (1971 SPAIN U.K.) D: "LEON KAMINSKY" (LEON KLIMOVSKY) W: JACINTO MOLINA P: ARTURO GONZALEZ
Sixth Waldemar Daninsky movie has "Paul Naschy" (Molina) as a Spanish villager under suspicion by the locals. He rescues a female tourist from rapists. She falls in love with him, but becomes aware of his tendency to turn into a wolfman on nights with a full moon. She takes him to London where the scientist grandson of Dr. Jekyll (Jack Taylor aka George Brown Randall aka Grek Martin) injects him with a formula so they can isolate his Hyde/wolfman persona. Of course things go wrong and we get the peculiarly pleasing sight of Naschy in top hat and cape stalking around the foggy streets of swinging London! Filmed in 70mm, it has whipping and minimum gore. Mirta Miller, Josee Marco Davo, Luis Induni and Bernabe Bart Barri are in the cast. Not really a good film, but i kinda enjoyed watching it, and Naschy`s make-up is pretty creepy. CURSE OF THE DEVIL continued the loose series.
