DEATH CURSE OF TARTU (curse of death) (1966 U.S.) D/W: WILLIAM GREFE P: JOSEPH FINK/JUAN HIDALGO-GATO
Deep in the Florida Everglades (which has sharks) archeology students disturb Tartu (Doug Hobart), an ancient Native Indian mummy that can transform into a snake, an alligator and regular warrior in head-dress. The best moments this time-waster has to offer are when Tartu is just a cool skull-faced mummy covered in cobwebs rising from his coffin. The rest is pretty much just crap (apart from the twisting!). Brad F. Grinter (BLOOD FREAK) appears uncredited. For a more memorable Grefe Everglade horror, check out the unbelievable STING OF DEATH (also with Hobart). Both are available on an excellent double-bill DVD from Something Weird Video.
