DALEKS` INVASION EARTH 2150 A.D. (1966 U.K.) D: GORDON FLEMYNG W/P: MILTON SUBOTSKY W: DAVID WHITAKER P: MAX J. ROSENBERG
This Amicus (or Aaru) spin-off from the DOCTOR WHO tv series (the second after DR. WHO AND THE DALEKS) may seem like fun nostalgia in retrospect, but is not really very good. Peter Cushing is the good Doctor, trying to stop the Daleks (cool and threatening sci-fi monster/robot creations on tv, flimsy easy-to-destroy motorised dustbins through the cold lens of a movie camera) from blowing up the Earth`s core and turn humans into Nazi-like drone slaves (who resemble Devo). Bernard Cribbins co-stars as a confused but heroic policeman. The part when a descending bomb is stopped by a few planks of wood is pretty stupid. 2150 A.D. looks suspiciously like 1966, especially when the human resistance seems made-up of cloth-cap-and-donkey-jacket-wearing miners and dustmen! With Andrew Keir, Phil Madoc and Jill Curzon. Called simply INVASION EARTH 2150 A.D. in America where few knew what Dalesk were. A third proposed big-screen Who/Daleks movie was aborted.
