CANDY (candy e il suo pazzo mondo) (1968 U.S. ITALY FRANCE) D: CHRISTIAN MARQUAND W: BUCK HENRY P: ROBERT HAGGIAG
Ewa Aulin is Candy Christian, an innocent, cute and sexy blonde high school girl who's hit upon by a series of lecherous older men in this plotless, rambling all-star oddity from the heady 60's. Richard Burton, Ringo Starr, John Astin (in a dual role), James Coburn, Walter Matthau, hunchback Charles Aznavour and guru Marlon Brando (in the back of a truck) all try and make their move on the irresistable Candy. I've heard it described as a satire, but i found no redeeming value (apart from the shapely charms of Aulin) in this pretentious mess based on Terry Southern and Mason Hoffenberg's novel. With John Huston, Sugar Ray Robinson, Elisa Martinelli, Anita Pallenberg, Florinda Bokan, Lea Padovani, Marilu Tolo, Enrico Maria Salerno, Enzo Fiermonte and Jerry Forman.
