A BUCKET OF BLOOD (1959 U.S.) D/P: ROGER CORMAN W: CHARLES B. GRIFFITH
Corman`s best is also one of the best horror comedies ever made. Dick Miller is Walter Paisley (a name his characters would often be given in later movies), a wannabe artist and waiter at a pretentious beatnik bar who does sculpture. Whe he encases a dead cat in plaster, he becomes a hit and is commissioned to do some human sculptures. This funny and disturbing fast-paced little number could be considered a companion piece to the inferior (but more famous) LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS. Miller is wonderful, and Ed Nelson and Bruno VeSota also have parts. A must-see.
